Meet the Poet – Marsha “The Poetic Diva”

Marsha is a Chattanooga native and poetically known as “The Poetic Diva” because of her poetic style of mixing
poetic verse with a lyrical hook. She is a mother, grandmother, poet, singer, actress, event organizer and most of all
an encourager and cheerleader of others. Marsha is the mother of two amazing adult and grandmother of two great granddaughters.

She serves as the Executive Director of the local nonprofit, Rhyme N Chatt Interactive Poetry Organization, based out of Chattanooga, TN which she has led since 2004. The organization exists to provide a safe spaces for the sharing and discussion of poetry where the poet is valued. The organization tagline is, “We change lives one rhyme at a time.”

Marsha is the owner of GoldNook Publishing that specializes in putting people’s poetry in print.

Her writing is inspired by the ebb and the flow of both love and life. Even though she has shared her poetry and hosted and curated open mic poetry sessions, programming and events since 2004, her greatest joy is seeing others come into knowing and owning their own voice, power, gift and purpose. This is her true calling.
